HARAMBE EMPLOYMENT ACCELERATOR MAKING A DIFFERENCE

At Harambe with youth members

BEING PART OF HARAMBE ATTENDEES

Most of us can all agree that we as youth have fears of being listed for being part of a  statistic of the unemployment youth. I know I have my fear of graduating, call me a chicken to change but its much comfortable for me to be a student because I know I can wake up to something every morning. I was fortunate enough to attend the harembe classes together with my fellow group member doing a school project about youth unemployment. I must admit that attending movement that includes youth and society issue has never been my "thing" I've always
found them to being one of those "babysitting project"
the unemployment rate in SA
for people who have nothing to do. But I must say that
attending Harambe youth accelerator has given me so much information on a day to last me a lifetime. We where taught things like how to dress up for an interview, which I never thought it was that important, to learning how to answer interview questions the list in endless. This has encouraged us to do our project not just for the sake of marks but to make a difference in the youth's lives.

THE BATHATHE UNEMPLOYMENT PROJECT

The Bathathe unemployment project, working together with Harambe employment accelerator have initiated a project of going to Johannesburg universities and colleges to raise awareness reaching out specifically to undergraduates. We aim to target hundred students from about six institutions to get the to join Harambe for their own benefits as well as for the to spread the words to someone else.
I certainly hope we can reach as many undergraduate as possible, I know for a fact that being young and sitting at home doing nothing can be stressful. How I wish I had someone to tell me about these kinds of initiatives would have positively impacted my life then. So "BIG UP TO HARAMBE" and all the folks who want to change their lives. From the Bathathe group, I say PRESA,PUSHA PHANDA!!

WHO CAN JOIN HARAMBE?

Anyone can be a member of Harambe from university, college students and unemployed young people. The advantage of joining Harambe is that one does not need work experience to be a member and there is not admission fee. Harambe is open to anyone who wants to take initiative with bettering their lives as well as people who wants to make a difference within the communities and/or the society at large. It helps people to uplift their personal brand which is good for job seekers.

THE EBOLA 2014 OUTBREAK

THE EBOLA 2014 OUTBREAK

We can all agree that the 2014 Ebola outbreak has been the most trending news of the previous year. The outbreak scared everyone, I sure no it had me even scared to be in physical contact with people and made me suspicious every time  I was having fever or any symptoms related to it whatsoever. The virus started 1976, in Zaire (now known as The Democratic Republic of Congo). It looks like this virus never seen to go away for good, its always outbreaks at the time where people least
expecting it. And its seems as though this time it has came back to be stronger than ever by not just affecting Africa but spreading out of the continent and taking lives
Ebola outbreak throughout the years

                                              SEPARATING FACT AND MYTHS

I'm sure we have all had stories from articles or people about Ebola that are pretty much extreme and just too hard to believe, all arousing from fear and lack of knowledge. One myth I heard was about Ebola being a respiratory pathogens
which not a proven fact  about Ebola. I guess when people panic they start forming all these conclusions which then spread to become rumors

EBOLA EFFECTING TOURISM

Who would blame tourists from withdrawing from their trips or touring African countries? Well I don't, but the problem I have is that it has affected tourism, of most African countries who have not been hit by Ebola and I am pretty sure its having its toll on economy brought by tourism. This evil virus seems to be winning so far as its making people from overseas to miss out the experience of being under the African sky. I must say I'm glad this is not just a fight for those specific countries with are affected by Ebola the most, but the whole world is working together to fight this battle of this fast spreading virus. Its good to see that the WHO is also getting involved in this issue of Ebola and shedding some light on Ebola patients, their loved ones and those who are at risk to be infected by Ebola . I just hope people around the world, especially those who where planning to tour the African continent are will be paying attention when the cure or vaccination is in place, I don't know about you but I am always in the spirit of showing off our animals, historical sites and our way living.

EBOLA INFECTING HEALTH CARE NURSES

I must say that I adore and respect them for going to those African countries which where strongly effected. They have shown nothing but bravery for putting themselves out there while knowing it would have cost them the lives.
Its includes doctors and nurses who got the virus and has infected four US citizens. I must say that is bravery right there!!!

AKA THE RAP GOD

AKA making his mark on hip hop world
a known fact that hip hop singer AKA whose real name is Kienan Jordan Forbes has made his mark on South African music Its industry ever sense  he released his album Alter ego on September 2011. The 27 year old old Cape Town born has proven himself to be a compatible artist not just in  South Africa but throughout the whole African continent. The hip hop guru has proven so many times that he is the rap God of South Africa by putting rap music to another level and making us proud by opening shows of the likes of Kanye West, Ric ross and  Snoop dog while they where in the country.

AKA WEST AFRICAN TOUR

His music has been well received by Africans and has earned him to go on tour in west African countries like Nigeria and Ghana on the first week of January 2015, to bless them with good music.
Times Live He sure does deserve the spotlight he is receiving right now, considering all his hard work is paying off. I believe this artist needs to be praised for his hard work, we are tired of hearing about his beef with equally successful hip hop artist Cassper Nyovest and some people on twitter calling him arrogant. Lets just hope that the Nigerians and Ghanian's receive him well.

AKA ft Burna boy, JR  Da les (oficialmusicvid)

AKA THE MULTI-AWARD WINNER

Rap artist AKA performed at the congratulate you, Run Jozi and closed the show with his song which he collaborated with Nigerian artists Burna boy, JR& Da les titled all eyes on me which has earned him multiple nominations. This song is a killer and is my favorite If I do say so myself, AKA song by far, I found myself singing along while looking at the video first time around. I personally think he was the best artist of 2014

THIS ARE SOME OF AKA AWARDS HE RECEIVED 2014
  • SA hip hip awards:4 awards including best artist and video of the year
  • Channel O: most gifted award hip hop hip , congratulate you
All in all he has won so many awards which put him on the spot and of cause and makes him to be one of the best in South African music industry. I sure know he caught my eye, and not to mention that he is not so bad to look at. The first time he caught my attention was back in 2012 when he won SAMA awards with the likes of Zahara and hopefully, still gonna continue to do what he does best keeping us entertained, and have us begging for more. This goes to show that he's not one of those artists who burn out after releasing singles or top albums. So BIG UP TO AKA!!!
